what are you looking for, darling?

skincare:

⤷ㅤwritten by me & honeytonedhottie

・ the first and most important step it to discover your skin type: there's oily, combination, dry, sensitive and normal skin types. please make sure to visit a professional dermatologist and seek their help before you start this new routine! they will tell you exactly what you need and their advice is much more important than the dozens of useless products that influencers on-line will try to convince you to buy. skincare doesn't have be twelve steps long to be effective. to do skincare properly is to know what your skin needs and to be consistent.
・ a great skincare routine does three main things: cleanses, moisturizes and protects, so keep it simple and stick to the essentials. always start and end your day with a gentle cleanser (choosing a gentle cleanser is important, because this allows you to clean the skin without harming it). after cleansing, use a moisturizer (this is a must no matter the skin type: it will help heal, protect and keep the skin barrier intact). finally, always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen – SPF 30 or higher – no matter the weather.

the order in which you apply your skincare is SO so important. because products have different molecular sizes that penetrate at different depths in the skin. some little things that can help your products soak into your skin better can include:
・ waiting 45 seconds between steps so that the product you just applied can soak into your skin (i personally like to wait for 5 minutes between each step, just to make sure)
・ SPF daily (non-negotiable)
morning routine: simple and gentle preferably, following these steps:
・ cleanse, serum (optional but recommended), moisturize, and sunscreen (non-negotiable)
evening routine: stronger and more repair focused, following these steps:
・ cleansing, treating, and hydrating. cleanse to remove makeup/dirt, then apply an optional toner to balance, followed by a targeted serum (like retinol or hydrating, but please consult a dermatologist before trying this step! these products tend to be stronger and some as completely useless if you don't have the age for it or if your skin doesn't require it), an optional eye cream, and finish with a nourishing moisturizer to lock everything in and support overnight repair.
・ for deeper care, incorporate exfoliation 1-2 times a week (this will also depend on your skin type!)

finch

・ this is a wonderful self-care app, in which you take care of a bird while taking care of yourself! this is my new favorite app. i use the free version and it is adorable. the app asks you some questions about your goals and how you feel about self care, and gives you some daily goals based on your answers, but you can delete and add goals of your own. the more you log in and track your goals, the more adventures your bird can go on and the more they grow

study bunny: focus timer

・ an adorable focus timer where you gain coins with every goal/time you accomplish something with your focus timer and you can spend your coins on cute little accessories for your bunny! the only real issue with this app is that the ads are kind of crazy, and it’s $15 a month to go ad-free

flora - green focus

・ this app includes a pomodoro timer and plants a tree in a rural community based on how often you stay focused using the timer on the app. the app does not plant a tree unless you opt for their subscription, which is $2 per year and allows you to plant one tree for 120 hours of focused time. you can also plant a tree every 24 hours with the $10 plan

・ this app combines a pomodoro timer with a daily to-do list

insight timer - meditate & sleep

・ a great app for meditations, ambient sounds for sleep, and progress tracking

structured - daily planner

・ an app with great reviews intended to help organize your daily tasks into achievable goals and track your progress

waterllama

・ another adorable app that lets you track your water intake with a cute llama! super motivating and is free for basic features

mindllama

・ made by the same people as waterllama, this app allows you to practice and track your meditation and breathwork practice with a cute llama! like waterllama, the app is free, but some features require a subscription, which varies depending on whether you want the premium plan, the anxiety relief plan, or the sleep focused plan

daily bean - simplest journal

・ another super cute app that helps you track your days and moods

schmoody: mood & habit tracker

・ this app aims to help you through depression, anxiety, and/or adhd by helping you track your habits, talk to other users, and give you the resources to get you back on track. the free version includes the “essentials” to support mental health and well-being, but they also offer a premium version, which unlocks more resources and personalized options. the subscription is $15 per month, $60 per year, or $100 for a lifetime membership

mineral - gratitude journal

・ this is a free journaling app that is secure in the fact that you have to use face id in order to access your journal. this app is definitely more simple, but effective nonetheless

focus keeper: productive timer

・ this app is a popular pomodoro-style timer app. i’ve heard that this app works wonders for many people with adhd

taking care of black hair:

⤷ㅤwritten by prettieinpink

・ spray water on your hair + drink a lot of water to keep it hydrated. it helps with detangling and promotes softer hair
・ use a daily hair moisturizer. this can be hair food, oil, or a leave-in conditioner, but something that can moisturise your hair every day
・ sleep on a silk bonnet or a silk pillow to prevent tangles and knots in your hair
・ apply styling products in layers. Too many products can cause grease or ‘crunchy’ hair
・ wash your hair once a week. you want to avoid product buildup, as that is drying your hair. if possible, apply thick oils or gels every other day instead of every day (most spray or thinner oils/gels are fine for daily use)
・ detangle before you wash your hair. completely wet your hair before detangling, so it’s much easier and avoids breakage. or, you can buy a detangling spray that aids you. try to use your fingers instead of a comb, as it is much gentler
・ when shampooing, avoid foaming shampoos as they can dry out your hair. look for shampoos that don’t have any harsh chemicals as well
・ deep condition your hair instead of just rinsing it. you can buy one or you can make your own. separate your hair into sections and then put conditioner onto each one. then put on a shower cap and let it stay for 15-30 minutes. extensive deep conditioning can weaken your hair
・ use an old shirt or a microfiber towel to squeeze excess moisture and water from your hair. using a towel can cause frizziness and breakage + avoid drying your hair using a blow dryer
・ use an old shirt or a microfiber towel to squeeze excess moisture and water from your hair. using a towel can cause frizziness and breakage + avoid drying your hair using a blow dryer
・ try not to leave in protective hairstyles for too long. a month is the best time frame, but 3 months is the absolute maximum!
・ when taking out protective hairstyles, let your hair breathe. a minimum of two weeks of natural hair is ideal. this allows you to take care of your strands as well
・ during protective hairstyles, remember to shampoo weekly to avoid dandruff buildup + use moistures
・ if needed after a hairstyle, trim your hair. some ends can't be saved

how to be softer:

how to start eating vegetables:

⤷ㅤwritten by autumnday19

need it to be easier?

・ baby carrots (good dipped in ranch)
・ celery sticks (add some peanut butter or cream cheese for extra flavor and protein)
・ broccoli (good with ranch, cheese, or salt, pepper & butter)
・ canned peas (you can microwave in a microwave-safe bowl. good with salt, pepper & butter)
・ bell peppers (cut into strips, good with cream cheese)
・ canned green beans (can be microwaved in microwave-safe bowl. good with salt, pepper & butter)
・ hummus (good with crackers or tortilla chips)
・ salsa (good with tortilla chips)
・ guacamole (good with tortilla chips)

need it in something?

you can't see it in: hummus, salsa & guacamole
you can see it, but the flavor is disguised (can usually be found store bought or done at home and use different veggies):
・ dressed up ramen (just toss in some random veggies in ramen of your choice. everything goes fine with it)
chicken pot pie
vegetable soup (with so many together it's hard to taste any specific one!)
・ chicken noodle soup
sweet and sour pork (chicken should be fine in place of pork)

texture problems?

need it soft:
・ hummus
・ salsa
・ guacamole
・ cooked carrots
・ avocados
・ beans
・ peas (make sure to cook well, great value brand has the softest peas)
・ cooked broccoli (note: it does smell bad while cooking)
・ cooked asparagus (note: also smells bad while cooking)
・ cooked zucchini and squash (good together but can be eaten separate)
・ you can also puree most vegetables and eat with a spoon or use them as a dip

needs to be crunchy:
・ raw carrots
・ raw celery
・ raw bell peppers
・ salad (remember you can put whatever you want in it! even if that means no lettuce)
・ most veggies are okay raw, and are usually very crunchy
・ veggies that google says stay crunchy after lightly cooking: snap peas, brussel sprouts, cabbage, water chestnut, bamboo shoots, lotus root

broad texture tips::
・ you can change textures by eating raw, cooking, chopping, pureeing, etc
・ you can separate different textures to use in different ways (ie using broccoli tops in a soup and eating the bottoms raw)
